This is a live model figurative workshop. Participants get the unique opportunity to create with a model present for both days - we will start with short poses and then into one long pose for a final portrait sculpture.
This is an unstructured 3-hour class where students can work on their own projects,
with the instructor available for input.

Creating one of a kind usable pieces with a variety of hand-building methods from slab building to press molds - starting with a one of a kind cup - having coffee will never be the same!

An urn can hold ashes of a loved one, or just be an object to hold meaning of a time and place. In this workshop we will create a one of a kind lidded vessel with narrative decoration. Whether you make an urn for a loved one -
or make one for yourself
- there will be lively
discussion on life, love
and loss, and how to
celebrate every moment.
Animals are the focus - whether it is four-legged or feathered. With a variety of hand-building techniques we will create at least one sculpture with an animal focus.

Elaine has over 30 years experience teaching clay work. She has worked as an artist in residence in school districts, art centers and guilds throughout British Columbia working with all ages, from K-12, and adults in post-secondary. Elaine began offering adult classes in her new, expanded home studio in 2017.

This workshop is a focus on the most challenging parts of the human figure - hands, feet, and ears! We will spend a weekend getting it right! Saturday will be a breakdown of body parts and work challenges, Sunday will be working from a live model - doing and seeing - success!
